We’re hiring a Part-Time Office Assistant (mostly mornings!) to open up shop, welcome our members and guests, and keep things running smoothly.
part-time office assistant
The Basics:
Start date: ASAP
Hours: ~12-20 hours/week
Most shifts will be mornings, 8:30am–12:30pm, with occasional afternoon shifts to fill in.Compensation: $17–$20/hour (based on qualifications & experience)
Location: On-site in Brooklyn (at the nexus where South Slope / Greenwood / Sunset Park / Gowanus all meet!)
This is a front-of-house role that’s equal parts welcoming presence and reliable point person. You’ll be the first one in, setting the tone for the day, keeping coffee flowing, and making sure members and guests have what they need to get settled and get to work. It’s not glamorous, but it’s essential — and if you’re a people person who likes structured systems and keeping things running smoothly, it’s a great place to start.

What you’ll do:
Your daily to-dos will include:
Arriving by 8:30am to brew coffee and set it up on all floors by 9am
Opening the roofdeck if it’s nice out
Greeting members and guests warmly, check-in Day Passes and room bookings
Showing people to their offices, desks or meeting rooms, pointing them to Wi-Fi, printers, bathrooms, etc.
Sorting physical mail into member mailboxes
Answering basic questions and fulfilling minor requests (brewing more coffee, providing guests basic supplies [ie stapler, charger, envelope, etc])
Answering the phones, providing basic information (open hours, day pass pricing, etc) and taking messages for management and sales
Resetting conference rooms between bookings and keeping common areas tidy
Restock printer paper, supplies, and other essentials as needed
Fielding or escalating anything beyond your responsibility to management or maintenance (don’t worry — you’ll know what qualifies)
Who You Are:
You might be a great fit if you:
Are an energetic morning person (or at least fake it well)
Are highly organized with an appreciation for structured systems and routine
Enjoy consistency and feel a sense of accomplishment when you complete a daily checklist
Are warm, welcoming, confident and able to interact positively and communicate effectively with all kinds of people and personalities
Don’t mind light tidying/resetting (but this is not a janitorial role)
Can work independently and handle things solo after some training
Have a great attitude and like helping people feel comfortable

We’re looking for someone organized, dependable, friendly and confident being the first face people see in the morning. This is a foundational role: part-time to start, but an important part of our daily operations. It’s perfect for someone who wants stable, consistent hours now and is open to becoming a long-term, go-to team member as we grow. You’ll learn the ins and outs of how we run, and if it’s a great fit, there’s room to take on more over time.
Room to Grow
This is an entry-level role, but we’re growing and there’s potential for more hours, responsibilities, or even creative projects down the line. We're scrappy, fun, and serious about making The Burrow feel like the best damn place to work in Brooklyn.
